Collectable Kitchen Plates Are A Great Decorating Idea Posted By :

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Collectible kitchen plates have been around for a long time. Your grandmother may have had a collection of antique or specialty plates. Decorating with these plates is one way to add interest to your rooms.

There are many categories of these collectibles. Some of them were designed to be collected and some of them became more desired as their value and popularity grew. When these products were no longer available to be purchased new, they began to become prized parts of a …

“JAIL BAIT” Fashion Show

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Edward D. Wood, Jr. produced and directed the low-budget “Jail Bait” in 1954, a ’30s-style gangster film with a twist ending a la The Twilight Zone. (The misleading title refers to an illegal hand gun.) He also co-wrote the screenplay with writer-producer friend Alex Gordon. It was Gordon who introduced Wood to Bela Lugosi 1952. (Gordon soon went on to help create American International Pictures.) Lugosi was cast as the father of the lead character, but dropped out due to illness.

Steve Reeves, 1947 AAU Mr. America, 1948 Mr. World, and the first NABBA Mr. Universe in 1950, was cast in “Jail Bait” as a cop. This is one of the few opportunities to hear Reeves’ voice as most of his later films were dubbed.

I have seen this film several times and the one thought that runs through my mind is Mr. Wood had to personally pick out and most likely wear, each and every piece of womens clothing in this film. It is believed that Wood’s mother, Lillian, always wanted a girl and would sometimes, until he was about 12 years old, dress her son in skirts and dresses. For the rest of his life, Wood was a heterosexual transvestite.

How does a government lead its people to war?

The film LEADING TO WAR shows the United States government making the case for war in Iraq.

The film is comprised entirely of archival news footage — without commentary, without voiceover — beginning with President Bush’s State of the Union speech in January, 2002 (the ‘axis of evil′ speech), to the announcement of formal US military action in Iraq on March 19, 2003.
Spanning these 14 months, we hear selected interviews, speeches, informal remarks, and press conferences by President Bush and his administration, aswell as from British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Friday, February 1st, 2008

This week’s question comes from Eric. He writes:
I finally have a two car attached garage that I’ve talked my wife into letting me keep as a workshop only. The trouble is, I watch all the woodworking programs and shows, and I don’t what to do first. Like most people my age (29), I […]
